How BT Verified uses this:
BT Verified is not a government agency, but when serious issues are reported we may help you escalate to the right New Zealand authority – for example NZ Police (105) for fraud or money lost, CERT NZ for online security incidents, the Commerce Commission for unfair trading, the Financial Markets Authority for investment scams, or Netsafe / DIA for some online scam categories. We can also track patterns across multiple reports for the same business and keep Tier 3 members updated on the status of investigations.

Submitting this does not replace calling 111 in an emergency. We use your report to track risk, notify businesses, and route information to the appropriate authority.
